There is not much of note-worthy traveller type news from my sojourn home; mostly I just caught up with folks and bought stuff I can't get in Mexico. And then left it in Melbourne. But, one event of note came to pass: after years of other events heinously forfended my attendance, I this year got to the Melbourne Zombie Shuffle. It's somewhere between a b-flick about the end of the world and a pissweak student union protest. It is to my taste.
Naomi and myself met Simon and hundreds and hundreds of folk dressed as the dead at the Carlton Gardens, venerable location of the first parliament of the nation, and shuffled through the city to the casino. Highlights were the two Steve Irwins with sting rays through their chests, the pregnant schoolgirl with the baby hanging out of her guts, the beheaded Elizabethan woman, and the trail of fake blood left across the state capital. There was also much in the way of ladies showing off copious green-gray cleavage, which cannot be wholesome. A couple of them had a nibble on Simon at the end.
So, I direct you to the photogenic drawing of this, and to the now completed gallery for Japan.
